Who is Provision Power & Gas?

Provision Power & Gas supplies the physical natural gas and electricity to homes and businesses across Michigan and Ohio. Your Utility continues to read your meter, send your bill and provide emergency service.

In Michigan, we are a licensed Alternative Gas Supplier (AGS) with DTE Energy,  Consumers Energy, Michigan Utilities Gas Company, and Semco Energy in the Michigan Gas Customer Choice program.

In Ohio, we are a certified natural gas supplier in the Energy Choice Program with Vectren and a certified electric supplier with Dayton Power & Light.

What is an Alternative Natural Gas Supplier?

An Alternative Natural Gas Supplier (AGS) is licensed by the Michigan Public Service Commission to supply physical natural gas to homes and businesses. AGSs are held to strict quality standards to ensure that customers reliably receive their natural gas each day and night.

Can I be on Budget Billing and still use Provision Power & Gas?

Absolutely! Many of our customers use budget billing as a handy way to manage their monthly bills. Budget Billing estimates your yearly natural gas usage based on your past history. You pay approximately 1/12th of your estimated yearly usage each month. Budget Billing helps to provide customers with a reliable natural gas bill each month instead of a bill that may be seasonally high or low. (Only available in Ohio)

Is Provision Power & Gas as reliable as other suppliers?

Yes! Provision Power & Gas is held to the same strict quality standards as other Alternative Gas Suppliers.

Will I receive two bills if I switch to Provision Power & Gas?

No. You’ll continue to receive a single bill from the Utility. You will see Provision Power and Gas listed on the bill as your natural gas supplier- and you’ll pay our price for the natural gas.

Do I need to call my old supplier to let them know I’m switching to Provision Power & Gas?

No. When you switch to Provision Power & Gas, we submit your enrollment directly to the local Utility. Your previous natural gas supplier will be automatically notified.

What is the difference between Provision Power & Gas and the Utility?

Provision Power & Gas is a supplier. We sell you the electricity and handle customer service. We are also able to offer you different pricing options than your Utility offers.

The Utility delivers the natural gas and electricity to your home. They measure your usage, manage the billing and handle all outages.

Can I switch to Provision Power & Gas if I am under contract with another supplier?

We recommend that you contact your current supplier  to ask about your contract expiration date and to learn about cancellation policies for switching to another company.

How will I be billed?

You will continue to receive the same bill from the utility. You’ll simply see Provision Power & Gas listed on the supply portion of your bill as your natural gas supplier.

Is this a scam?

We are not a scam. Provision Power & Gas is an alternative gas supplier licensed by the Michigan Public Service Commission to provide natural gas to Utility customers. There are a number of suppliers in Michigan, and Provision Power & Gas is one of them. Scams almost always involve someone trying to get your personal financial information. The utility does all the billing, so we don’t need any of your financial information. Provision Power & Gas only needs enough information about your natural gas account to set up service.

Is this a contract?

Yes, this is a contract. But, if you decided to change your mind after you sign up, you have 30-days from the date of signature to cancel this contract. There are no fees or penalty to cancel this contract. 

Is it cheaper? Will this save me money?

Provision Power & Gas cannot guarantee that you will save money. If you find that our services do not prove a benefit, you can cancel any time.

Who should I contact in an event of an emergency?

You should contact your local utility to report any emergencies and 911.
